Project Kitchen Towel.

I found some Wal-Mart clearance cotton. So today’s weaving goal is to see if I can practice tension and make a practical and affordable object.
Threading the warp through the heddle:

Tying the warp to the apron bar:

Warp is tied and ready to roll. I used a paper grocery bag to wrap the warp with as I rolled it. That helps maintain even tension.

Self stripping yarn for my weft:

After winding the weft yarn onto my shuttle, and making sure the warp’s tension was taught, I started weaving.

I used a paper bag to wind with on this end as well.

I have made progress on my sweater as well, despite being distracted by the shiny new loom:
